The Department of Education’s instrumental music school, services over 400 primary and secondary Western Australian Public Schools.
During Term 4 we offer a parent information session to outline the program requirements for the coming year. Places in this program are highly sought after at Floreat; students are selected from a music aptitude test (determined by the IMSS) and their physical suitability to play their chosen instrument (determined by IMSS teachers). Testing occurs in Term 4, the year before student commence tuition. However places may not be confirmed until the beginning of the year classes commence so opportunity can be provided for new students.
We offer the opportunity for students to learn the following instruments through group tuition once a week.
Year 3 | violin or viola |
Year 4 | cello |
Year 5 | classical guitar |
